Traditional Martial Arts
We are a traditional hard style Japanese Karate program dedicated to training children and adults of all ages and abilities. Phoenix Martial Arts has partnered with Team Raposa to provide Karate classes at the CINA Cultural Centerin the the Ironbound section of Newark, NJ. Prior to our move, we taught taught Karate for over 20 years in East Hanover, NJ. With instructors that have competed and won both National and International competitions, having been participants and winners in AAU Circuit, Goodwill Games, and Junior Olympics, competing as Team America. We provide affordable world class instruction.
Shotokan
- Developed by Gichin Funakoshi
- Founded in 1936 in Japan
- This style of martial arts is practiced with deep, long stances that provide stability, enable powerful movements, and stengthen the legs. Shotokan is regarded as a dynamic martial art as it develops anaerobic, powerful techniques as well as developing speed.
